Risks of contracting a sexually transmitted disease

Many times the adolescent is not aware that he or she can contract a sexually transmitted disease due to lack of information or other issues. These are some of the risks that the person can get this disease:

• Sex without protection
• The immune system and cervix have not reached maturity
• The use of alcohol and street drugs and having multiple sexual partners
• Sores or open, cut lesions, such as perforations for piercing or earrings on the body
